The filming begins!

After the creation of the character I started filming the start of the video. This process required the my Leica camera and a tripod. For the editing that did not require the animated character I used the iMovie program that helped add some effects into my movie

In the image above I trimmed the clip on the audio file which was the song "Around the world" by draft punk to create an effect of realism. I reduced the volume of the song to create the illusion of me taking off my headset.

Furthermore, I reduced the background noice because it was interfering with the song and did not sound professional. Adding to that I also removed the shaking of the camera to make the footage more steady and then exported it as an mp4 file to import it into PremierePro.

PremierePro
Once I imported the film into Premiere Pro I started editing the character inside the real life footage. I imported the Character Animator file into the footage file that I used for the video.

This image shows the character as displayed in Adobes Character Animator. The white background shows that it is transparent which means that once the footage enters another asset in PremierePro, it will show the asset as the background. On the bottom of the image is the timeline that shows the audio of the file. When my mouth moves it records the my voice and matches it with mouth movement.
Testing mouth movement in the images below:

Saying "O"

Saying "Yes"

I saved the footage as "Final Project 1" and imported in into PremierePro were I added it into my timeline.

I used the razor tool to cut the footage that I did not want by cutting the footage, then selecting it and removing it by right click and then clear.

Then I moved outside to show the camera man the footages I wanted to record and instruct them on how to film the landscape. The image also includes the filming set up, a Leica camera with an adaptor on a tripod with expandable legs.

Following post: Outside filming

Reflection: My first time filming the project was exciting and I got to take the role of the director of this small story. I also started editing my final project and I used the skills I learned over the past few weeks.
