SMART objective for the second project

Image
Animated video For my Media Project I I will be following the SMART objective way of thought in order to create a work schedule for my final project Usplash Animation SMART objective: My goal is to create an animated video with a duration of three to five minutes where an animated character is interacting with the real world. The story I am trying to tell is that the animated character comes from an animated world were everything is easy and simple, were in real life everything is hard and difficult. The character will be walking around seeing how beautiful life can be. This video will take a lot of time to be complete and a lot of hours watching tutorials on Youtube, reading instructions and making changes in order to achieve the best result possible. This project will be created using my Leica camera to take the shots I need, as well as programs like Character Animator for the creation of the characters facial and body movements, Photoshop for the creation and design of the chara...

Starting my animated movie process

Image
Knowledge for the subject The creation of this kind of video is a long process and requires a lot of work. For a beginner in this kind of projects it was difficult for me to start creating this on my own. So I started researching Adobes programs. I have a subscription to there applications so I have every tool I need to create something like this. After starting researching about my project I stabled across a book about Adobes premiere pro. This book, while showing how was the program ten years ago, helped me get a wider idea of how this software operates.Gaining knowledge in the subject was fun and exciting. Reading this kind of books is something I wanted to improve from the last semester. Then I started following the stages for creating an animated movie. Stage 1: Design The design of the character is a process that is kind of difficult. On one hand I want my character to look like me but the my current knowledge on all this programs limits my ability to create something fascin...

Researching for my small animated film with the help of graphs.

Image
For my research I decided to visit a website called Visme to start creating a graph. This graph will include the stages of the production in this kind of projects. It is important to follow this 5 steps for any type of project you are working at the time.  It was a great opportunity to explore a website that I have never work on before and use the free tools that it gave me the chance to use. I had a lot of fun trying to find pictures and animations to use on my graphs to make them look more professional. You can see the graph and more information here: Graph This are the five stages that any creator has to make in order to achieve a good result on the creation of a small animated type video. For the first step of my research I started searching various studios that have been producing this kind of content. Lets take a small trip to a long time ago, to be more specific, to the times were Walt Disney was designing a small mouse that would change the world! Sources of the image...

Research for one of my 20 minutes idea

Image
An animated character into the real world One  of the ideas I had during the practical exercise on the first session was the idea of an animated character living in the real world. To great something like this requires knowledge on Photoshop, Character animator, Aftereffects and Premiere Pro. I found a very helpful tutorial from a man working for Adobe called Okay Samurai on his YouTube channel .  Tutorial This project requires the maker of the video to create a new project on photoshop were he would attempt to create his face and body and input that into the character animator. This part of the project requires development and research. To achieve a good result and create a character that resembles you, you need to make some sketches to have an idea on how to create the whole figure. It would be useful to have a picture of yourself in front of you in order to have a good reference point. Furthermore I was able to find an animated character of my self that me and my frie...

Researching filmmakers and the way they work

George Lucas and STAR WARS Great ideas do not come in minutes. The creation of Star Wars was something George Lucas was anticipating for many years. His first idea was to make a movie with a similar tone with the Flash Gordon Series which was a sci fi story airing to the small screen. At the time George Lucas was an indepentent filmmaker that has realised the movie "American Graffiti" which generated enough money for the filmmaker to create his company that were appropriately called "Lucasfilms". Source of the image: George Lucas IMDb Source of the image: Flash Gordon IMDb Source of the image and information for STAR WARS:  Lucasfilms     At first George started drawing pictures of the main character and early designs for the characters and drafts for the film. This seems to be an important step a filmmaker has to make in order to establish a new universe with compelling characters and an interesting storyline.  First draft for imperial officers, stormtropp...

Brainstorming Ideas in 20 minutes!

Image
As a session practical exercise we had to brainstorm 20 ideas in 20 minutes It is important that when an artist is generating ideas, he should present a variety of topics  I finished the 20 ideas afterwards and here are the final ideas. Lets go through them together: All the ideas from number one to number seven are Covid-19 related. All this ideas are various things that I think could make a compelling video idea. The other ideas are fun little experiments I want to make. For example ideas like the one with the animated character in real life and the called "Small things that we all do and nobody admits" are some fun concepts for small videos. In this mix there are also some topics that I think can be discussed on a 5 minute long video filled with graphs and examples. This kind of ideas were " The false idea about video games", "Why animals do not have wheels?", "The electricity War" and "The evolution of species".

New Term Welcome Post

Image
WELCOME POST Welcome to my welcome post for the second term of my Media Studies Foundation Year. With this term I want to add the ambition and the hard-work I was lacking to deliver the past term. This time around I plan to explore filmmaking in more depth and evolve both as a student and a filmmaker. Looking forward to presenting my work to the world. In this term I will be working on a lot of projects both in and out of university and learning by myself to learn photoshop, aftereffects, character animator and premiere pro. This is a photo I have taken during my time in the army. Source; Myself Like this flower I intent to open up and make the best out of this year. The whole world is going through some difficult times and we need to stay together in order to rise even stronger. During this Christmas break I studied a lot about three films that the filmmaker Christopher Nolan created and this are the Batman trilogy.
