About Me page on my website

Image
About me page: I wrote a small paragraph discussing who I am, what I am doing now and what are my intentions for the future. Also I included some information about my educational background but also my experience in my field of study. I have been experimenting with the tool bar to edit how my text is being presented to the viewer and did some adaptions to my written text. Furthermore I changed the background to the one with the New York skyline so my Welcome page and the page about me can be related as the pages to introduce and talk about me. Afterwards I added a professional picture of me taken at Bristol UK. I made sure that I chose a picture that makes me look confident in order to appeal more to my viewer that I am a student with passion and certainty. In order for the "About me" page to be relevant to the other pages I changed the background and changed the font of the letters. The background is a video footage that I took last year on a Christmas market at the centre...

SMART objective for Major Project

Image
SMART Objective As a future film and television studies student I want to create a 3 minutes long video discussing social media and the impact they have on human lives. Social media have a large impact on how the world around as is shaping and evolving and that is something I want to discuss on my major project. I believe that with my current knowledge on video editing, filmmaking and time management skills I can achieve a good result for my major project.By using friends as actors in the time given I can write a small script that will be easy to execute and be achievable in the time given.I will be using iMovie to edit my video because it is a program that is easily accessible on the type of software I am using. I will be filming my videos on my Leica camera and use adaptors to transfer my work on the computer. Also I will be using photoshop as well in order to edit some images that I may use on the final outcome of my project and add the to my website.I will be monitoring my con...

Website Creation

Image
I visited  the Wix Website Editor to create my website using the google account we created on the week 1 lesson. I selected to choose a template and not create one. Then I had to decide from different templates on the Portfolio & CV category  I chose the first one because I like the way that the content of the website is being presented and how the page is divided with the main idea of the website presented ate the middle of the screen, the name of the author at the top left corner and copyrights down in the middle. Other templates had a lot of empty space and that is something I do not particularly like on a website.  Firstly I added the copyright text down below so that the images and work that I created belong to me as my intellectual property After that I started exploring my tool bar that the website includes in order to familiarise my self with the website and help me create a unique result. Afterwards I added a background using the background templates av...

Concept of my Major Project: Brainstorming Ideas

Image
Brainstorm: Making a small film on how social media affect our lives. Making a small film on how social media capture our attention Making a small film on how social media can be addictive Making a small film on how social media have a positive effect on human lives  By making this type of video I want to create a fusion of the things I will study later on at the University.      I want to create a small film based on how social media affect human beings. In that way I will make a project relatable of my progression route. I believe I poses certain skills that will be very useful on making this project (video editing and script writing skills).  I want to create this film based on my knowledge about editing software but also to learn new techniques on how to tell a story in a short period of time through colour filters , rapid change of images and with a low budget.  Milanote Idea Board:  Milanote Reflection: Brainstorming ideas is vital to the d...

Logo Maker

Image
Logo Maker was an interesting software to use and experiment. I created my logo by mixing some icons, playing the opacity of the icons, duplicate some items and adding some text I did not like the icon the website set up for me so I changed it to a very nice looking letter "T" which is the first initial of my name I duplicated the two pencils and decreased the opacity of the letter "T" just to make it a little less overpowering. Reflection: This exercise was really helpful and gave me a few ideas I could use in the future on logo making. I could improve the logos I will make in the future by familiarising more with the software and its tools.

MORE LEADING ROLES ON SUPERHERO MOVIES!!!

Image
Reflection: By working on this project I learned how to operate photoshop, and to select certain objects and change their colours. Also how to change the way that the colours are being expressed on the picture. I found a tutorial online on how to change the colour on selected objects. Video: Colour change Furthermore by doing research on this project I learned a lot about advertising and advertisement techniques for example memorable taglines, bright colour usage etc. I would like to improve the way that the colours are bouncing of each other on my final work and to learn more on how to operate on photoshop. I played with the filters so the image would remind an old "Action Comics" issue where back then the colours that are being showcased are brighter.

Sketches and photographs about the advertising project

Image
Sketches: I sketched a couple of ideas for my project and I would like to display them here.I draw a figure with a hero pose so I could familiarise myself with drawing figures in various positions. I also photographed another person in heroic poses to see with which of my ideas I am going to continue  My research on superhero poses have been very useful when drawing this sketches and taking this photographs. I sketched both of this figures from images I found online and then I photographed my friend trying to imitate this poses. I took the pictures with my phone so it would be easier to upload them on my laptop. I ended up using a photograph that I captured with my phone and used the comic book as a prop to emphasise the type of text I took my inspiration from. By thinking on how I would take this pictures I learned to use props into my research and use certain objects in order to achieve a better result on my final work.

Advertisement Research

Image
RESEARCH Initial ideas: For my advertisement project I wanted to create an awareness advert that reflects on a problem that modern movie companies are trying to solve. Also, I would like to make something that can be connected to my future studies. I studied the way that most British commercials work and the style they use on their adverts. Interestingly enough, many of those adverts are showing scenes of people at home that aim to make the audience more familiar and bring a more heart-warming feel to their work.  In consideration of the previous aspects of adverts I mentioned, I decided to make an awareness advert that focuses on creating stronger and leading female characters in big blockbuster movies. I asked my girlfriend to pose for me, because she also likes comic books and I wanted to photograph someone who is also inspired by superheroes. Process of creating the idea Research images, colours, poses and tagline:       Photographs:  Wonder woman Captain Ma...

RESEARCH ON SEQUENTIAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Image
SEQUENTIAL PHOTOGRAPHY   Research:     Initial  ideas :  Reading ab o ut Duane Michal ’s  work on sequential photography ,   in  more dept h ,   from websites that mention his work.   I was inspired by his work  to make  a series of six individual images telling a small s tory with a deeper meaning .    Main idea of project: How a simple glance could mean more than meets the eye to certain people  depending on past experiences and relationships of the protagonists.  I want the story to have  a deeper meaning but with a comedic twist.       “But several people who saw the series when it first came out–including Linda Benedict-Jones, the survey’s curator–have told me that they didn’t immediately get the homosexual subtext, although they could tell there was something promisingly queer, in the older sense, about the work. That means that the series itself, as a work of art, played the same g...
