Looking back to this term- Evaluation and Reflection

 The End

This past term helped me unlock a lot of new skills and evolve as an artist. The project I was working on helped understand the importance of research, both in software and in depth of the topic, as well as push my self forward to try new things and experiment. I wanted to experiment further with more difficult programs like researching Aftereffects but I am happy about the results of my project. Now lets take a step back and go through my journey for this term.

Hardware

This term allowed me to use my camera more often and learn things about filmmaking like tracking shots, medium shots, close-ups and other techniques, as well as, camera movement like the pan shot, the tilt shot and zoom. These skills helped me a lot with my final project for this module. Furthermore, I learned how to use a tripod and that also helped me explore possible camera angles that I have never used in the past!

Software

The most important aspect of this term was the skills I learned regarding the software I was using.

I managed to use programs like Photoshop and Premiere Pro, which were difficult for me to work on in the past as well as Character Animator.Adding to that, I learned how make these programs cooperate to create something good. I used Photoshop to create my character, then Character Animator to make him move and finally Premiere Pro to edit the footage of the character with real world ones.

Researching for the project

Researching on how to create my character and how to act like an animated little man was a challenge. Looking back I am glad I drew sketches that would help me with the look of the character as well as the way it acts. Reading about south park were the characters have little movement capabilities helped me understand how to act as a 2D person.

Final reflection:This term helped unlock new skills that will be useful for my future studies. I still would like to learn even more about the software I will be using and how to master the programs I already use, but I am happy with what I have achieved and I cannot wait for the next term to research my project with more depth.
