Testing the animated character in Premiere Pro

 One of the greatest things about Adobes programs is how well the cooperate with one another and it is something that will help me achieve a good result for this project. After I created my character in photoshop and recorded him in Character animator I wanted to test how he would interact with the environment around him. After a little bit of experimenting I finally found a solution regarding the scale of the character in certain scenes. Sometimes in order for the character to fit perfectly into the scene I should change his scale and change his position in the X axis.


At the left side corner of the screen is the panel with the videos I was using during this test run of my project. The character's movements are prerecorded and without background, thus making it easy to add the scene in Premiere Pro. Both videos were dragged into the timeline as new assets and then I made sure that they were working perfectly.


In order for the effect to work, I clicked the asset which was responsible for the animated character ( the pink one) and then started experimenting with the scale by clicking on FXScale panel.


I made the character smaller to add depth into the scene. I was aware that I could not make the character very small due to the fact that the movement of the mouth would not be clear to the viewer.

Then I made him big so that I would test the quality of the figure in close-up shots and make sure there were not frame drops.
Lastly I wanted to test if I can cut a scene in half and scale the character again during the change of a scene so that I would not have to record in character animator individual dialogues for each scene.



In my next post I will be experimenting with After effects and how to create shadows of the character into the scene and make the character have a stable point in a scene while the camera is moving.
