Portrait practise

A while ago I took a portrait picture for my blog that gave a lot of ideas for the portrait images I will be taking in the picture.

On the 22nd of November on the afternoon I took some portraits near the Bristol Harbour

I followed tips like taking a lot of pictures with some distance and a good background.

All the pictures were taken from an iPhone 11 Pro Max with the portrait mode on and natural lighting.

Afterwards I tried to take other posses to see what angle is better for my professional picture on my website.

Later on I changed the background in order to introduce some variety to my portrait practice.

For my last portrait pictures I used the gallery editor on my Samsung Galaxy S10+ and cropped the picture.

Furthermore, I added this picture which looks more professional on the "About me" page on my website

Reflection: This exercise helped understand how to capture a professional image and learned from the tips we discussed during class on how to take more professional images of people and also myself

  1. Good work on your portrait photos. A tip for your portrait photos is to leave less headroom above your head. This will make for a better composition with the focus on the subject and not the background. Please make sure you show the process of adding the portrait image to your about me page.
