Website Creation

 I visited  the Wix Website Editor to create my website using the google account we created on the week 1 lesson. I selected to choose a template and not create one. Then I had to decide from different templates on the Portfolio & CV category 

I chose the first one because I like the way that the content of the website is being presented and how the page is divided with the main idea of the website presented ate the middle of the screen, the name of the author at the top left corner and copyrights down in the middle. Other templates had a lot of empty space and that is something I do not particularly like on a website. 

Firstly I added the copyright text down below so that the images and work that I created belong to me as my intellectual property

After that I started exploring my tool bar that the website includes in order to familiarise my self with the website and help me create a unique result.


Afterwards I added a background using the background templates available from Wix's given choices. I chose the New York skyline image because New York is a very film related city were many iconic movies and television series took place. Furthermore I added a welcome sign so the viewer knows that this is the first page of my digital portfolio

Lastly in order to add my personal touch into my website I added a small video I created for the first page of the website. The video shows a carousel in motion, a very classic image and something that is been showing up in movies since the first baby steps of moving image. Then I added my logo from logo maker and finished the home page.


















Research: There are many film related websites across the web that I took inspiration from, like Lucas films, Marvel Studios and Warner Brothers. The template used on Lucas films' is different from the other two.
On this website the folders and the work is being shown in a more artistic way, with the pages being placed on a random, whilst marvel and warner brothers studios are showing there work with more order and it is easier to navigate but it is lacking innovation.









Reflection: First impressions are very important to gain the attention of the viewer. Todays session on the creation of a welcome page and what to include helped me understand the importance of the welcome post. Also it was important to familiarise my self with the tools of the site. From my work today I learned how to upload and save media into my Wix account and how to change the background and upload my own work into the website.

    Please make sure you develop this blog post further. How have you changed the homepage to reflect your progression route? You also need to add a blog post with your website research.

About Me page on my website

  About me page: I wrote a small paragraph discussing who I am, what I am doing now and what are my intentions for the future. Also I included some information about my educational background but also my experience in my field of study. I have been experimenting with the tool bar to edit how my text is being presented to the viewer and did some adaptions to my written text. Furthermore I changed the background to the one with the New York skyline so my Welcome page and the page about me can be related as the pages to introduce and talk about me. Afterwards I added a professional picture of me taken at Bristol UK. I made sure that I chose a picture that makes me look confident in order to appeal more to my viewer that I am a student with passion and certainty. In order for the "About me" page to be relevant to the other pages I changed the background and changed the font of the letters. Brainstorming Ideas in 20 minutes!

  As a session practical exercise we had to brainstorm 20 ideas in 20 minutes It is important that when an artist is generating ideas, he should present a variety of topics  I finished the 20 ideas afterwards and here are the final ideas. Lets go through them together: All the ideas from number one to number seven are Covid-19 related. All this ideas are various things that I think could make a compelling video idea.The other ideas are fun little experiments I want to make. For example ideas like the one with the animated character in real life and the called "Small things that we all do and nobody admits" are some fun concepts for small videos.In this mix there are also some topics that I think can be discussed on a 5 minute long video filled with graphs and examples.This kind of ideas were " The false idea about video games", "Why animals do not have wheels?", "The electricity War" and "The evolution of species".
